Poor mental health is a significant barrier to workforce participation.  However, the characteristics and quality of work can also influence health and wellbeing, and impact on future participation decisions.

The Work Well Being project is a collaboration between PEASI and SafeWork Australia to investigate the inter-relationship between work and health across the life course using data from the Personality and Total Health (PATH) Through Life survey.  For example, analysis of the overall PATH sample found that just over 5% of respondents reported that they were currently experiencing bullying in their workplace.

The project aims to investigate important psychosocial and physical hazards in the workplace including workplace bullying, insecure employment and attitudes about work to assist the development of policy around health and safety at work.
