Social costs of adolescent mental health problems in Australia

Members

Principal investigator

In Australia, 26% of young people aged 16 to 24 years experience a mental disorder in any single year.

The experience of mental disorders during adolescence can disrupt normative life transitions and negatively affect one’s life course.

This project investigates the social costs of adolescent mental health problems in Australia in terms of educational disruption and longer term social exclusion.

This project is funded by an Australian Rotary Health research project grant.
